Neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback that focuses on reinforcing certain brain-wave frequencies in different regions of the brain. It is a non-invasive treatment where electrodes are placed on the client's scalp and then through feedback (e.g. computer game, sounds, etc.) connected to the electrodes healthier brain wave patterns are encouraged. The idea here is that through this feedback we can teach the brain how change and adapt, often resulting in decreased symptoms. When used with athletes, it can also lead to increased performance.
